We are passionate about design, interiors and anything mildly creative. We are also passionate about our home town...the magnificent Leigh on Sea. It is an area filled with so many diverse subcultures who seem to be creating new things daily. Everytime we leave our front door we stumble on something new. With that in mind we decided the showcase the talents of these local artisans on the Tin Design website and allow you the chance to get involved.

If you would like to be featured on our local artisans page, please contact us at 'hello@tindesign.co.uk'

Grant Philpott

Grant Philpott is a local Artist who has displayed a variety of artwork at the Beecroft and Leigh Art Trail including Oil Paintings, Watercolours and Lino Prints. Grant also works as a TV Producer and in 2016 produced the artwork and Directed the Animation for a feature film documentary 'Under the Radar" about local actor and Time Bandit, Mike Edmonds, which was the closing gala film at the 2016 Southend Film Festival.

'Having grown up locally I am fascinated at how our town has changed over the years and after drawing and painting many of these places over the years I decided to combine them into a single design to celebrate our unique seaside town. The hand drawn and painted watercolour designs mix nostalgia with the present day and depicts well known local landmarks past and present including other seaside themes. Including the Kursaal, the Bowling Alley on the Pier, the Palace Hotel, the Golden Hind, the Crooked House, Southchurch Hall, Rossi's in the High St, the Cliff Lift and quirky elements including cockles, winkles, mussels and seafood. A closer look reveals a giant container ship, the Mulberry Harbour, the Grain Chimney, kiteboarders, gulls, bait diggers, even an Easyjet!'

'The wallpaper is a repeat pattern "toile" style and comes in a stylish charcoal grey with a grey background. The design lends itself to entrance hallways, small rooms and feature walls. It is digitally printed onto Coated Non Woven paper (which doesn't expand during hanging) and is digitally printed by Anstey Wallpaper Company.'

Ian Treherne Photography

Ian Treherne is a partially blind photographer, specialising in film and furniture making.  Ian started drawing at the age of three and transferred his eye to photography later in life,  In such a small space of time he has captured elegant portraits using
soft light to create atmosphere and contrast.  Ian's love for the 60's shines through his work often, shooting mainly in black and white.  His compositions are often cinematically inspired and, he considers light to be the most important component in his photography.  We feel honoured to have him on board.

The Print Wagon

Rochford based Aidan Saunders has been touring the UK in a hand painted VW Caddy dubbed 'Print Wagon' since 2014.  He produces freshly pressed linocuts and exhibits a wide range of hand printed ephemera.  We love his fun 'tongue in cheek' style - some of which we can visualise  in the coolest of kids bedrooms, it is also at seriously affordable prices.

Art by Antony 'H' Haylock

After studying at college Antony, otherwise known as H, teamed with partner Pez and quickly rose to become one of the foremost artists in the late 80's Rave scene,
producing the first flyers and graphical art installations on a large scale.  As the Rave scene legalised and developed into the club scene in the UK, H was enployed to
bring the urban, gritty feel of the illegal warehouse to the interiors of the leading clubs throughout the country.  With this growing popularity there became a constant
demand for bespoke commissioned murals and paintings.  These works challenged H's skills to explore new directions in medium and style, providing a great foundation
for what lay ahead.

We are thrilled at Tin Design to have an artist on board of this caliber and feel proud that he is from our town.
